Nationality requirements
Please check the nationality requirements carefully before you start your application.
Positions at the FMO are open to the nationals of the EEA EFTA States (Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein).
Some positions are also open to the nationals of the Beneficiary States of the EEA and Norway Grants (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, and Slovenia) and to the nationals of other EU Member States.
Please note that applications received from nationals of other countries than the ones mentioned in the vacancy announcement will not be considered.

Completing the application form
Please note that applications cannot be saved and completed at a later stage. We recommend drafting your answers to the questions in a separate document and copying them into the application form when you are ready to apply.

Modifying your application after submission
After submitting your application, you can log in through the Candidate Connect portal and update the information in your application, including your uploaded CV and other application details. Any updates must be made before the application deadline.

We do not ask you to provide references at the time of applying. We may ask shortlisted candidates for reference details at a later stage in the recruitment process.

Applications from former FMO staff
The FMO accepts applications from former staff members who meet the eligibility criteria for the position. Candidates who previously worked at the FMO in a fixed-term position will be eligible to apply once they have completed a cooling-off period of at least one year between the end date of their most recent FMO contract and the application deadline of the vacancy for which they are applying.
All applications are assessed on their individual merits through the recruitment process. Selection decisions are based on the qualifications, competencies, experience, and overall suitability for the role, taking into account the specific requirements of the position and the needs of the organisation.

Unsolicited applications
The FMO does not consider unsolicited applications. Only applications submitted through a published vacancy using our online recruitment tool will be considered.

Hybrid working arrangements at the FMO
The FMO offers hybrid working model for its staff. Subject to the requirements of the role, operational needs, and in agreement with their line manager, staff may work up to 40% of their weekly working hours from a location other than the office according to the current policy. The duty station for all FMO staff is Brussels, Belgium.
